Hey Crawdad,

First impressions were Johnny Winter. due to the powerfull attack of the rhythm and the arrangment, and it also struck me as a loud mix (not a bad thing). I think I heard backup vox. those could go up some but, the head room won't allow anything but a compromise/give and take on any mixing level issues imho.

Cool break!

I dug on the confident lyrics that stuck to the theme of the song and didn't back paddle a bit:)

Way to lay it down like it's gonna be.........

Peace,
Theron.

Hey everybody--thanks for the comments and for listening. "Hey Acey--its climbing the charts again!"

I did this whole thing as a joke and as an exercise in trying to capture that 60's thing. One night I heard a bunch of these 60's garage band tracks on NPR and one thing led to the next. I don't think I was completely successful in what I tried to do but there are some good suggestions here that might get me a little closer.

Kramer, Smokepole--I loved Jethro...and his partner Homer...

M.Brane--I ALMOST did that panning thing and thought about mono mixing too. I might just try that!
Jagular--Good! The whole point was just for fun. My next couple of song posts will be anything but, probably.

ChrisHarris--I have to dig into the file and see what I did for the "mastering". I noticed it was pretty hot too (looked like a big fat blue line in the waveforms--like a lot of new releases) , but it didn't seem to be clipping here, so I just said "cool" like Beavis, and there it was.

Scottboyher--I have a question for ya. What kind of snare would you have liked to hear? I was thinking something bright and crisp, cause a lot of those old records had that.

dachay2tnr--I was thinking Yardbirds/Easybeats all the way on this one. I STILL like the Yardbirds--way underrated and influential.

Middleman--Yeah I remember them. Cippolina (SP?) was the guitar player. I liked his playing. Sounded like Quicksilver.

Theron--I think you are right about the headroom and mix. Its great to see you back BTW.

I gotta tell the Fuzztones their song is climbing the charts like wildfire. Maybe they'll do a 'B" side for the single. (Oh--I hope not!) :D

LOL
I hope your hope is crushed like a Sunday morning cheerleaders.

I mean this in the quaintest sort of way, of course.:D

That sounded like a fun song. Myself.....I could hear Joe Cocker doing that song.

Really good recording and vocals... and guitars. Thought the drums sounded a little more midi than ususal. Especially on the transition part. But I like the transition part real well.... just not the drum track on it.

Cool song.
