96 Les Paul Studio...

I found this post on my local CL. I would most likely try to use this as an opportunity to "flip" it or something. I could use a new recording amp, so maybe try to sell the LP/amp for more. What are your thoughts on the price? Thanks.
 
The guitar is worth $500 all day - depending on condition. Hard to tell from that pic - looks stripped. And assuming it's a real Gibson.

I'd say it's a good deal.

Quick Google search for "'96 Les Paul Studio" suggests that, with the P90's, it's probably a Les Paul Studio Gem, a P90 equipped studio finished in gemstone colors - amythyst, topaz, etc. Harmony Central suggests $750 is a pretty good median price used.

Then again, this one's been stripped, and doesn't seem super well maintained. The Crate is a POS, and the Fender cab isn't much better - they'll be tough to flip.

I wouldn't do it unless you were prepared to keep the guitar, because in this economy there's no guarantee you're going to be able to move a stripped P90-equipped Gibson and an entry-level stack anytime soon.
 
I have a mid nineties studio, with some chips on the paint and such, relpacement tuners, and the neck pickup upgraded to a classic 57. Sounds and plays great now, and i would probably take $500 for it. $600 would be really hard to walk away from.

in general, these are a fantasic bang for the buck, but becasue of that they are pretty common and i see them on craiglist all the time. You might get $50 or $100 if you tried to resell, but it would probably take some time and work to find a buyer.
