My son and I recorded this earlier tonight. I use a '73 Fender Vibro Champ w/ original speaker. PRS Santan SE w/ Seymour Duncan Custom 5 Bridge P/U. I ran the guitar through a Marshall Bluesbreaker II pedal. All the guitar tones were run through this setup. I recorded the tones with an Apex 460 Tube condenser mic. My son recorded the drums and the bass and did all the final mixing of the tune. I just did the guitar parts. Here's a link to the clip on my soundclick.

Here's a pic of the setup is used:

On a totally unrelated note... are you looking to sell any of your amps? I am very interested in that Silverface Bassman :D:D

No, I'm not selly any of my Fenders. I'm still in the gathering mode. In fact I just picked up the '73 Fender Vibro Champ I recorded the clip with. I'm still trying tol build my collection. Maybe some day I might start selling my amps, but not any time soon. :)

You do know that your amp by pool picture is just as evil as having 10 naked girls piled on top of of each other by the pool don't you? :D

Sounds pretty good man. Everything was thru the champ?

Nice sound!

I especially like the fact that you tried to give all the specifics for each clip. One little nitpick, though. All of the ones that are the 'Still got the Blues' clips should have that in the title, and you don't have the guitar listed on all of them.

Were they all done with the same recording chain? (mic, etc)

And could you tell me what sort of post-mic processing (compression, reverb, eq) you did? Were they all the same?

Very interesting clips. I never would have expected a 12 to come out brighter than a 10, for example.

I think my fave was the Voodoo. I'll have to listen to them all again later.

That's a pretty good real-world advertisement for that Aphex, BTW. I'll have to think about picking one up.

Def got to get a TS-9 was it? I think that's what's missing.

Well, that and talent.

Thanks Travis. Yea all the guitar parts were done through the champ. I really amazed me how it recorded so well. I think the other thing that really gave it a big sound was the Marshall Bluesbreaker II pedal. That pedal can sound big and thick and the amp took the pedal very well. I guess I guess I added another girl since I just picked up this little Fender Vibro Champ. :D

Other than this clip that I just did, all clips on my soundclick page were done with my Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top S/S/H.

As far as the recording process, all previous recordings were done with a cheap $50 Apex 425 mic. This recording with the Fender Vibro Champ was done with my $230 Apex 460 Tube condenser mic.

My standard recording process goes as follows:

Apex 435 or 460 ,into Tascam US-122 interface, into Dell using an older version of Guitar Tracks Pro 2. As far a post processing, I just use the GTP 2 onboard Final mix compression, room reverb and that's about it. I try to get all my levels and tones the way I like it before I record. I like to try to have the recording to be as true a representation of the amp or pedal being recorded. It's better to let an amp or pedal stand on its own merits. :D

Wow

So you're not putting any reverb in after the fact? That's all either room or amp reverb?

Sweet.

The reason I brought up the guitar was that on some you mentioned the TA, some an LP, but some no mention.

The title thing was just so that if someone wanted to maintain the flow of checking all of the same song, it would be easier.

Like I said, nitpicking.

Even more impressive considering the chain used.

Indeed. That room ambience is very nice.

Hey, Tex

Think you could put up a better overhead shot of the pedalboard?

With lines and arrows and a paragraph on the back explaining what each one is? :D

(Alice's Restaurant, for those of you playing at home)

That's a pretty impressive array you've got there.
