8 lugs vs 10 lugs

can anyone tell the difference between a drum (any drum) with only 8 lugs as opposed to 10 lugs on pro level kits?
Normally pro snares and kik drums have 10 lugs. But my starclassics only have 8.
Does anyone (with the super accurate hearing) know of a difference in sound under the mics?

i dont think thier is a differance maybe it'll be more consistantly tuned around the head but other than that i cant see it making the drum sound different it may also give you a broader tuning range but i dunno to be sure

More accurate tuning under higher tensions. Snare drums are usually tighter than toms so they generally have more lugs.
Kick drums have more simply because of the size.
