788: Saving EQ Settings?!

Hey...

I've just recently gotten around to using a Tascam 788 I've had around a while. I've done recording and exporting tracks, but now I'm into just working with it. Now, it seems that every time I Save my current song in the 788 and turn it off, or am still working and go from Recording mode to Mixdown mode, I lose my EQ settings. I get it to where it's satisfactory, do another piece of work, return... and it's gone! EQ is flat, sound is back to zero, and I have to start over.

Effects are still set as I left them though...

I've made up some track sheets, and evidently will have to use 'em! But am I missing something for saving my EQ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Ah, ok. My time spent is intermittent, and I think I once knew this!

Thanks RAMI.

No problem. :)

I found that, next to virtual tracks, the "Scene" feature in the 788 (and 2488) were surprisingly under-used by people on a few TASCAM forums I have been on.

It's fantastic for keeping settings if you want to go back and record something or go back to a mix at a later time. You can re-name the scnenes "Vocal Record", "Guitar Bounce", "Main Mix", or whatever...and go back to it any time.

I think you have to make sure that your fader settings are on "Catch" if I'm not mistaken, or else the levels will default to where you have the physical faders at the time.
