hi....... i would like to get 1 of these and was just wonderin what they are like to play and how they sound. right now i got a lespaul and i love it. thank u very much... later
I dunno about that. I've played both and they are they're both heavy. The Explorer also tends to have a darker sound due to the lack of a maple top. The neck is similar to the fatter LP's and SG's.
Yes, it does feel very comfortable due to the body shape despite it's weight. I could play mine all night without getting a sore shoulder.
Come to think of it, I miss mine. Should never have gotten rid of it but at the time I couldn't afford the payments.
The newer 90's - 2000's are light -- the original up to mid 80's weigh a ton -- very dark, rich tone, but can get very bright with treble up 10 - neck like a baseball bat -- GREAT guitar!! You'll love it, takes a while to get adjusted to the size of the rear bout -- be careful early on not to back into things with it -- also strap locks are a MUST -- the guitar WILL fall off the starp! Good luck and enjoy! drr.
wow man time laps, forgot all about this forum and this post. thanks very much for the replys you guys. But any way i think i remember pricing out the explorer a bit back and was 3 grand canadian i think. the post i made above back then i was playing 2 epiphone lp's. and since i liked those guitars i got the gibson lp studio for 2 grand and a bit. even though that was 2 years ago the studio lp is great and love it. if i had the money id go for the explorer and bit more money id go for the costom lp, either 1 in black....... thanks again
