Hi guys, this isn't really for me, but for a friend, an "analoghead"
Here is the list we were up till 5 am the other day doing it. Any suggestions?

Rode NT1A 230$
Presonus Bluetube + AT2020 + AT2021 250$ (HUGE DEAL!!!!!!!)
Behringer Truth 2030 Passive 130$ (To be used with kentwood fischer amp)
3 x Mogami Silver Microphone Cable 25ft 60$
Di Marzio Instrument Cable 18ft 28$

The other option was to screw the pre+mikes deal and the rode, and get a cheaper pre-amp (probably Studio Projects VTB 1) for 120$ and a BlueBird for 300$ and a Nady RSM-4 for 80. That makes 20$ past 700 but we scratch a mogami cable, since it's only 2 mikes.

For recording he has an Alesis Multimix 8 USB on the way.
Ah, he mostly would be doing electric/acoustic guitar and vocals.
So, I'm leaning more towards the rode/at option, but what do you guys think about it?

why the instrument cable? you'll need speaker cables to connect those monitors mes thinks.

nice setup tho. looks good. but I think you'll need a dynamic mic for the electric guitars. Something like the sm57, or if you wana go cheap, the audio technica pro 63 is great

The instrument cable is for the electric guitar, and his electroacoustic.
As for dynamic, be bought a Behringer XM8500. I know it's not much but it's better than nothing. Also I have a SM57 and SM58 I could borrow him, in case none of his mikes convinces him. The idea was to find gear for him to complement mine and backwards, instead of buying repeated stuff.
He did said he would want an SM57 in the future, but he can get those here even cheaper than in USA (as well as the behringer monitors), so he can buy it later when he has the money and the need for it.
And the speaker cables, I'm going to make them. I make most of my cables and I am also making some mike cables for him, but we thought it would be nice to have at least a few good mogami cables.

where are you located??? i'd like to know where to buy a cheap 57
