my new band wants to put outa 7 inch record as a debut recording- where can we get them pressed? is this even a good idea? thank you.

Are you talking vinyl, 45 rpm type 7" record? You might look in the Thomas Register, but I don't think you're gonna find a lot of places that offer that service, though I could be wrong......One of these days those machines will be worth a fortune.

I've had several seven inches pressed. It is still a very popular medium in indie/punk music.
I used Impressive one-stop in San Fransisco ( http://www.impressiveos.com ). Also, www.byofl.org has a directory of companies that still do it, but there servers are all messed up right now, check it again in a week or two.
