This is my 666th post on this forum. I dedicate this post to Fletcher, because I know he has something special with this number. I did this on musicplayer a while ago, but he didn't notice that I suppose.

FWIW I just found out the other day that Number of the Beast's vocals were tracked with a Shure SM7!

There's an interview with Bruce Dickinson in Pro Secrets of Heavy Rock Singing, which I just got and he mentions that. Then he goes on to say how now he's mainly using U87s in the studio (bastard).

I thought I noticed him singing into an SM7 in the video for Flight of Icarus (which is actually from Piece of Mind). See, this is what I do now and its pretty much this forum's fault. I watch TV and if I see a microphone I go "Ooo, ooo, what kind of mic is it!?" Then I yell out what it is and all my friends look at me funny. Anyone formed a support group for this kind of thing yet?
