Freakin' sweet
I've got a matched pair of Mesa/Boogie Green 05 6550-A (STR 418) tubes that someone gave me a number of years ago, but I have absolutely no use for them. Can't seem to find any on ebay to get an idea of pricing. Are these things worth anything more than tossing of my 2nd story porch for amusement?

I did in fact, but they don't have any Mesa/Boogie tubes... I'd imagine they are rebadged like most other "big" companies that make tubes.

Mesa tubes are re-badged. They cost more because they say Mesa, but they aren't worth more really.

Well, I think they'll go on ebay starting at 99 cents, and I'll let em go for whatever they go for... as I say, they were given to me by someone who didn't need em, and I don't own any amps that use them.

+1 to this. chances are they're rebadged chinese tubes of some sort. there are only a handful of current companies making tubes and they're all in russia, china or slovakia. actually, i think GT makes some occasional short-run tubes using the old GE equipment, but not much.

you can always set an absurd reserve on ebay if you just want to see what they'll go for and not actually sell em. ;)

cheers,
wade

Thanks for the info... they were in a storage bin I had forgotten about, so I don't care if they go for 10 bucks :p
