6-pin to 4-pin. Will it work?

My understanding is the difference between 4-pin vs 6-pin is whether or not power is supplied over the cable. If the device you are trying to interface gets it's power from the Firewire interface then you need a full 6-pin cable. If the device has an external power source (i.e. wall wart or power cord you plug into the wall) then you should be OK with a 4 to 6 pin coverter cable.

Alright sweet. Yeah, my mixer is powered by a plug into the wall and what not so it should work great. Thanks!
