I just got the new american musical supply catalog, and on page 121 is the Fender EVH 5150 III, for $1,999. The cabs are $1,099. ($3100 for a halfstack)

Then on page 126 there are the Peavey 6505's, a whole halfstack for $1799.99

A $1300 difference in price.

That was excellent... would you like to do my taxes next year? :)

That's nothing. Yesterday I got two different pieces of mail from Verizon offering me their high speed internet service. Each letter was exactly the same, except one rate was for $14.99 a month and the other was $21.99 a month.

Which one should I get?

CapN?

I think the difference is 7.00 :)

I'm just saying that the new 5150 must sound very good, at least $1300 better than the 6505, or the old 5150's.

I wonder how good the $25,000 frankenstein replica sounds? I wonder if It sounds $24,000 better than a custom warmoth guitar?

Or it has Fender on it, so the peavey haters will pay more

That EVH III is the most expensive non-custom shop amp Fender has ever made or ever will. Isn't it the first tube Fender 4X12 half-stack ever? Super Showman maybe.

The SuperSonic comes in a half stack.

read the reviews in the new guitar world, looks like a damn good amp....i agree though, very pricey....i had one of the block letter 5150 half stacks...was one of the best high gain tube amps i ever owned

Actually that article in Guitar World pissed me off ...... the cover's showing an interview with Eddie Van Halen and it was basically a 6 page advertisement for his new amp.

At least it gave some insight into the inner workings of the amp and its' design .............. not!

"It's like fucking .....you just know when it's right."

Oh ...... and he threw a bass down on the floor ..... set it to feedback and left it for three months to test it.

I don't believe that bullshit for a second.
