i was wondering if anyone has used the 5.1 option in adobe audition,, i tried it but when i exported it i didnt knwo what option to pick to burn it to a cd-r not to mention i think i need better brning software,, any suggestions?

I use 5,1 for my DVD projects. Works fine.
Mix it in A Audition and import it after to Adobe Premier video project.
I wouldn’t put music in 5,1 but if you want to make DVD which covers live event then you can create pretty funny effects with STEREO music in front and audience in the rear speakers. Once I added a thunder sounds when rain started in the middle of the concert. The sound was starting from one rear speaker and disappeared through other rear after it ran through all other speakers and made my hair rise up.
Helicopters are funny too.

Use Adobe Encore as last software in Adobe chain. Encore is creating menus and burns your finale video projects to DVD.
Summary:
Audition is creating sound (Mix 5,1 or just stereo)
Premier is editing video and mixes it with audio
Encore is creating menus and burns project to DVD
