I just was given an old analog 488 MKII Portastudio in mint condition. Will I be able to transfer my recordings to my computer and, if so, how can I do that?

Depends on what you want to do.
You can transfer a stereo MIX from the 488 to a PC without any problems.
I dont think you can bounce all 8 tracks from a 488 into anything as it doesnt have direct outs from each of the 8 tracks for digital remix, at least as I recall.

The 488mkII does not have 8 discrete tape outs, but...
