488 vs 488MKII

Greetings to all. I just signed up and am looking forward to some great idea sharing and such. My first question is... can anyone explain the differences between the 488 and the 488MKII? Any and all replies, comments, concerns, suggestions, and what not are welcome. Thanks much.

Never owned a 488, The 488 MKII has phantom power,2 xlr mic ins and 3 band sweepable eq. The original does'nt. Pay the extra if you want a anolog cassette studio
