i have two questions regarding home recording with the tascam 488:
1-my 8th track seems to be broken. it began by playing back the 8th track with about 1/3 the volume and it would occasionally jump to normal volume during play back. it progressively got quieter and then when i tried to record to the track it woul not register any sound. sound was coming thru on the master 1/L 2/R display but not on the track 8 display. anybody know whats going on?
2-has anyone had any luck mastering 8 tracks from the 488 to a cubase type program? i have tried doing each track individually but they are hard to line up in the computer program, and it is very tedious. anyone know an easier way? i would like to have each of the 8 tracks from the tascam to manipulate individually on the computer.
