488 MK II Manual

Hey Y'all!
I just picked up one of these ol' 8 tracks, but I didn't get a manual with it. Getting it up and going has been no problem, but I would like to get a manual to take full advantage of some of the non-intuitive features. If anyone's got a manual that I could copy or one for sale, it'd be much appreciated!

I have a COPY of the 488 manual. [I also have an original manual from whence I made the copy.] [Sounds redundant doesn't it?]

I'd always say, "call Tascam Parts for the manual", almost like a broken record, but now it seems that someone has put a copy of the 488mkII manual online, in PDF format. Sure, it's an illegal copy, but it's out there, and the Tascam Police haven't shut it down yet.

Anyway, I don't have the link right here/now, but I'll post it later this morning, when I get home. Still, Ghost of FM posted the link originally, and if he sees this post before I get home, I'm sure he'll post it.

Better yet, I'll look for it in an online search, right now, & get back to'ya soon!

Thanks, Davemania! I knew somebody out there would have it in a digital format! Incidentally, I did what I thought was a fairly thorough internet search, and could only find manuals for the 488 (not the MKII). These manuals are not available from Tascam for free (as far as I could find on their website).

HEY REEL PERSON--HOPE YOU'RE ENJOYING SUMMER.


Just a small point--there isn't a great deal of difference between the 488 MKII and the original--XLR inputs and Phantom of the opera power on the II edition.

But, good that you can get the copy free. I'll just hang on to the copy I have and someday someone might need it bad enough for me to cover my costs involved. I had to wine and dine an ugly gal who had a printer....glad she didn't drink Jack Danials.
