The 424mkII power supply is internal, with cord attached.
Sorry, all you guys who were pointing to the "module". It's not one of those.
Your options are limited, my friend, but this will likely need a service technician. There are no fuses internal to the unit, that I remember. This is NOT an external power supply unit, or "wall wart".
Your best recourse might be with the seller, and/or claiming a charge back on Paypal or your credit card, (if used). Was it sold "as is"?
How was the condition of the box? Did it appear to have been dropped? There are a lot of variables, but a "power supply from Radio Shack" isn't one of them.
That's a 424mkII, right? Not a type-error? The MkII has an internal power supply, with cord attached.
Tascam Service is in Montebello, CA, and that's the best thing I can recommend. Chances are, it will be a simple fix, costing probably about $100. Sorry for that news, but you may have recourse with the seller, and/or a charge-back.
Sorry to repeat myself. That's my post. Good luck.
