Anyone know about sample rates...I do country music in nashville tennessee in my house...and recorded a session with 24 bit 96k sample rate...and it seems to limit my plug-ins and eat my CPU POWER of my 64 bit processor...for country music recordings i usually record about 15 to 20 maybe 25 tracks and mix them then burn to a cd...then master them..what sample rate should i use...Im using pro tools L.E. 6.9 with the Digi002 Console...with all the plug-ins from various companies and i want to be able to use them all from time to time...Please respond..Need Help...Thanks guys.

I would go with a sampling rate of 44.1 or 48Khz at 24-bit..... the miniscule sonic advantage of the 96Khz SR is far overshadowed by the huge impact on system resources and storage space requirements.

What he said.... :) I run the 002 with 6.9LE and 96kHz east my computer for lunch.....I usually go 24 bit 48k

I always go with the target sample rate. This may be an old habit but, at least at one time, the damage that sample rate conversion does far out-weighs the benefits of 48k vs 44.1.
