410-live/reason sync...

Does anyone know if you can sync 2 laptops running Ableton Live and Reason by using hte midi ports on 2 firewire 410's? if you cant do it with the fw410 does anyone know a relativly inexpensive way to do this?

You should try conecting the mtc outs and ins... i think it's more efficent than doing so with midi cables. Once you do that all you need is to configure wordclock to send an make one laptop master and the other slave... then you should plug the digital outs of the slave 410 to digital input of the master 410 using optical wire... an use the analog outs of the master 410 for monitoring. try this and let me know how is it goes.

I do something kind of simillar with firewire1814 and delta 1010lt...it works fine.
 
Just connect the midi out from one to the midi in on the other. Configure Live to send SYNC via that channel and set reason to midi slave mode. That should be it
