I have used a DOD rack compressor into my 388 for a few months. Now i have a reverb rack unit too and if there is 2 effects ins but not 2 effect OUTs, and the AUX in is an RCA in.... is there a way to use 2 effects units and be able to adjust the level of both going into each track?

A compressor is not strictly considered a signal processor or hooked up the same way that a reverb unit would be through the effects loop.

A compressor is generally injected into a specific channel while tracking or playing back to fix the dynamics of that specific track/instrument. You should not be plugging it into an effects loop in the first place. It should be plugged into the channel's insert loop.

The reverb unit would go into the effects loop being fed from the effects send master out and returned to the stereo buss through the two effects return jacks. If your reverb doesn't have direct RCA pin jack connectivity, simply get the appropriate adapters or pre-made cables that have the right plugs at each end of the wire to hook it up.

As for the compressor being used on the entire mix for mix-down applications, simply connect it in line with the main stereo out that would ordinarily feed your two track master recorder and the feed the compressors outs to that deck or computer, hard disk recorder.

I hope that clears up a cloud or two for you.

Cheers! :)
