I am having a problem with my Tascam us-122mkII, i am using a Apex condensor mic used with the XLR input. For some reason when i try to record the recording is only recorded on one side. if i have the cable hooked up too mic in L it only records on that side and if i record on mic in R it comes out only recorded on the right. stange? can someone please help me out here?

Flip the mono switch on the Tascam to "ON".

Not to chip you, but you are having a problem with your understanding of recording, not your hardware.

A microphone is a mono source. Typically mono things are recorded via a bus system which puts them hard left or hard right in the pan spectrum - you can then, using panning controls, place them where ever you like.

Keep at it, and read lots... it all makes sense eventually!
