I thought some people might be interested in this; .I ordered mine today, no strings attached, I promise. I hate spam as much as the next guy. A friend turned me onto this.

That's a lot to pay for all those ads. I'd bet if you separated page by page a Rolling Stone mag and made 2 piles of it (advertisements and "journalism") you'd have 95% ads. Also, you have to count the "journalism" that points out who's pants Bono is wearing in the picture etc as half an ad too I guess.

I got a free year's sub. I don't remember anything from any of them.

Come to think of it, I didn't notice when it stopped.

I subscribed to Rolling Stone awhile back,but I considered it to be a magazine about style not music.
It's closer to People magazine than any real music magazine.
 
It is decent bathroom material. SOS is schlock, basically an advertising rag full of technical terms that reads more like a damn advertisement than anything else. as is EQ, Electronic Musician, etc.

Sure RS is a joke, just like maxim(the biggest offender, IMHO..like it was written by a pack of brain dead drooling retards,,,along with its partner, blender). Id pay 6 bucks for any of those too though, for what they are. I dont know about you , but I dont have the Iliad nor Siddartha in my bathroom.

TapeOP is the only "legit" magazine that I like.

rolling stone is'nt even good bathroom material, for reading or otherwise....
 
I've subscribed to a bunch of magazines over the years,but currently have no subscriptions.It seems that the articles get cycled and seem to repeat themselves after a year or two.
Also I'm getting sick of reviews for products that have two page ads in the same issue.

the sad part is that there's a whole segment of the voting population who actually takes their "journalism" as fact. :eek:

I've let all my subscriptions lapse except "TapeOp".
 
you got ripped off if you paid anything above nothing. if you sign up for the free year subscription and never respond to any letter they send, they will just keep sending you the magazine for the rest of your life. i had to call them up to cancel after a few years just because i got so tired of filling up my garbage can with them.
