Hi all. So tomorrow I am going to head down to Lowes to pick up the materials for some bass traps and broad band panels (roxul, wood, etc.). While I was reading the product description online though, I realized that each batt of roxul is 3" other than 2". What Im wondering is, in my bass traps, should I still double them up to make them 6" thick? Or is that too thick? I thought I read somewhere that If they are too thick, they start becoming less effective. Would anyone care to shed some light on this?

Thanks, Drew.

I'm sure there is a diminishing return but 6" isn't going to be it. If you have the floor space/wall space to do that, double it up.
