1)Fast Money- Unfinished demo
2)Goodbye
3)I Think of You-rocker

These are unpolished demos. Please critique the songs themselves, not the mix.
The mix will be worked on in subsequent weeks.

Thanks. I am not thin skinned, so give me your honest impressions.

C'mon folks

Throw me a frickin' bone!!!

Some songs are better than others. Let me know if you like them or not. I will not be offended. No political correctness necessary!

I listened to "goodbye". I thought it was an instrumental piece until about halfway through I think I barely heard a vocal mixed in there somewhere.

Huh?

The vocal runs throughout the song...me no get it.

Maybe someone else can check to see if something's wrong with the download.

Link works except next to last one. I think a little less repetitive vox on Goodby.. would help. You have a kinda 80s flavor huh? I think some better drums sounds would be a great help and the panned guitars on the last one are a bit much for me! Jam on!

You know it's funny you mention that...

It seems as though much of my music reflects different styles of the 80's. That's a good pick up on your part.

I agree that the vocals on Goodbye remain repetitive due to vocal range and a lack of a bridge. Maybe it doesn't build enough.

I Think of You will be re-mixed. It's panned too much, and poorly mixed due to old equipment. I now have new equipment. Better midi sounds, and better mixing software (Sonar 3). Better audio interface, too. (m-audio firewire 1814)

Thanks for your comments.

The first track has too much vocals...needs brought down in the mix - maybe a touch of reverb would help even this out.

Goodbye - I liked the direction this song was going. I'd probably be more opinionated if I could have heard the vocals.

The third track was the best of the 3, I must say. During the listening of these songs I realized why I'm glad the 80's are over. No matter how hard one tries, electronic drums rarely sound as if they belong on a song. Anyways, track 3 sounded like a poor man's Elvis Costello...which is too bad because I love his work.

Sorry man. There's some good points here and there, but overall, there's a lot of work to be done.

Maybe somebody with a greater love of the 80's sound could fluff you up better than I.

Thanks

Agreed. These songs for the most part are midi demos. They will be played by musicians once the songs are worked out completely. I agree about the drums. I will re-post the last song again with live musicians (it was done, but not to my liking).

The songs ALL need work. Thanks for your input.
