Hello everyone.
I'm having difficulty getting my MIDI information to record properly in Cubase SX 2. I have no noticable latency in playing/monitoring, even with multiple VST instruments running, etc. When I record, however, the notation is entered anywhere from 5 seconds to 3 minutes ahead of the cursor. The distance of the gap varies as I adjust settings in cubase, but once I begin to record the distance from the cursor remains static.
With the key editor open during recording, I can actually see the dots and dashes of my playing being recorded this way with little to no delay in their entry. When they first appear they are white, and when the cursor finally passes over them during recording they turn red, though it does not play their tones until I stop recording and play it back.
My computer is basically new w/lots of memory. I'm using Windows and I have an Aardvark direct pro 24/96 to interface cubase with. My keyboard is super cheap (a casio ctk-411), but I'm hoping this isn't the problem. Can anybody give me a suggestion?
