I just got a Diamond Monster MX400 to go beside my Soundblaster Live! Value card. I got it installed and everything and hooked up just the way I like it through my mixer and stuff.
Problem:
I wanted to use the soundcard specifically to output my softsynth, Pro52(sweet).
When I had my Pro52 preferences set to SBLIVE MIDI:[INPUT]
and using the SBLIVE DIRECTSOUND PLAYBACK OUTPUT, I could easily set the latency to 40 ms. Which was awesome, but this setup didn't allow me to record the synth tracked(as a result the whole mix was recorded with it).
So here comes my Diamond max.
I have the SB LIVE MIDI [INput] ,
but now I made it have MONSTER's DIRECTSOUND as the playback output.
Now, I have to set the latency to 70ms!! SHITTY!
I even gone as far as changing my multimedia properties.
I changed the MIDI from SBLIVE MIDI to Monster MPU-401, or to MONSTER WAVESYNTH. They both give the same results.
So, I don't know. I really don't want to uninstall all the drivers and such just to try to install the Diamond Monster first and then the LIVE second.
Is there any tweaking I haven't looked at? Any of my preferences?
Maybe Remove the MIDI drivers from the LIVE and just have the monster's MIDI drivers remaining? Since there's no alternative driver, it will use the monster's at full force.
Has anyone tried this?
