I'm using Battery to sample short WAVs in cubase.

Should I be housing these samples on my external hard drive or the native one?

right now the external one is being used for recorded audio, but should I put my single-hit samples on there too? thanks for helping out.

$.02

in all likelyhood if it's just sin gle hits that are loaded into ram for beat construction probably no big... but if your talking bout large samples like for vsti instruments you'll want a third drive...

Drive 1: OS and apps
Drive 2: Audio projects
Drive 3: Sample libraries

If you don't want or cant have 3 drives, combine 2 and 3.

Good advice. I think the project and libraries should sit happily together since there should not be great deal of writing to the disc going on, except for the saving of projects. Once the projects are loaded into RAM, the drive should be free to read the libraries without interruption.

Cheers.
