Hello,

Just trying to get started with my new Lynx One soundcard and I've already run into a problem. I've imported a 16bit/44100 mono generated drum track. I converted it to 24/96000 and it plays just fine but now when I begin to record my guitar tracks and I go to monitor settings the default is checked at 16 bit stereo. When I check 24bit mono I get an error message saying that my soundcard will not recognize this format.

What am I missing? Also what is the difference between 24bit packed/unpacked and left justified. I checked help but......?

Thanks,
Rusty K

Me again,

Maybe I shouldn't be posting today. I'm dingie as hell from a hard weekend.

I realized that in monitor settings/ audio format playback should be in stereo regardless of the recording format, but what about the bit depth? Shouldn't it monitor in 24bit?

Also I clicked Recording settings/audio format/24bit mono now I get an error message saying that I don't have a soundcard selected for recording. I am totally confused because I was able to record before that change.

Just a post to end this thread,

I've solved the problem with the help of Lynx One support.
Seems I was trying to play a track sampled at 96000 which will only be accepted by Lynx in digital format. I was in Analog format. Everything is peachy now.

On to tracking!

After reading the first post, I was hoping someone would jump in on the "packed/unpacked" deal. What did you find out, Rusty?

getuhgrip,

Hey...All I know is Lynx One works with regular 24bit setting. As far as unpacked/packed I don't really have a clue as to the differences and why. Lynx One did tell me that their cards are always "left justified".

Sorry I can't be more informative but even though I have enough posts here to get the expert tacked to my name I'm still definately on the learning curve.

Thanks,

Rusty K
