2488MKII. In and out points not working!

Hey guys,
I finally received my unit this last friday. As a big surprise, I ended up receiving the MKII version, and not the original 2488:D

Already recorded 2 songs and couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

One thing is troubling me though, it seems I can't be able to set the in and out points.
I follow the right procedure:

1) I locate where I want my in or out point to be

2) while the transport is at stop, I press and hold the LOCATE button

3) then I press either in, or out, depending on what I'm trying to set

4) the counter resets, and my in or out points are not saved or set


Has this happened to any of you?

Any help will be much appreciated.

When you set the time points, the time usually flashes, maybe about three times I think. Make sure you wait until it's finished before you make your next move. Hope this helps.

Unless they have changed something on the Tascam 2488 from the 1st to the 2nd generation, you press the SHIFT button and, while holding that, press IN. Same procedure for an out-point.

Nico, on the original 2488, to set IN and OUT points you locate to the point that you want to be set, then press SHIFT+IN or SHIFT+OUT. When the point is set, you will see "Set IN!" or "Set OUT!" on the Home display page.
