Can I record 24 mono tracks using the virtual tracks and mix them all down, then master them. I know there are only 12 physical faders for mono and 6 stereo. Is this at all possible?
Yes. Though, I'm not sure what Philboyd means by "pre-mixed", you can simply clone any track from 1-12 to any track from 13-24. I often record a track on Track 5 (for example) and then clone it to Track 13 (for example), and then record another track on Track 5 and clone that over to Track 14, etc.......

i've tried cloning tracks on my new 2488, from track 1 to 2 or 3 for example.
the result was that the cloned tracks were incredibly low volume.
never had that experience with the 788.
volume levels were all up. not that it mattered i suppose as i was cloning a track.
cloning tracks is a pretty simple thing. if this continues should i assume there is
a defect in the unit?
