I'm looking into buying a 24 channel mixer for use in my home studio. This is what I need:

- 24 inputs (line/XLR)
- Direct outs on each channel
- Meter Bridge (if possible)
- Studio/control room outs

The board I have been looking at are:

Mackie 24x8
Behringer MX9000
Allen & Heath GL2200

So what do you think the best is out of all of these or do you have a better suggestion? I wanna try to keep the price range under $3000 cause I'm low on cash.

Thanks,
Matt

Look around for a used Soundcraft Ghost console. It will blow away any of the consoles you have listed, and used, would be in your price range.

Good luck.

man,

soundcrafts are where its at.

On ebay right now, there are some incredible deals on soundcraft.

eg. $900 for a 24 channel soundcraft 600b. It also looks great

thanks for all the help. I didn't really wanna buy anything used but I'll take a look at it. What do you guys think of a 24 channel version of the Allen & Heath GL2200? I heard the EQ is awesome. I mention it because Guitar Center has one for $1999 which is a great price.

Thanks again,
Matt

Mackie is what I use

I use the Mackie 24 x 8 - each channel has a direct out - $2200 but you can find those used as well.

a friend of mine has that model of the Allen and heath.

It sounds awesome. I only heard it once, but I liked the sound. I definitely prefer it to mackie
