there's a 24 channel EV mixer at a local music shop for $200... phantom power and 1/4 inch stereo mono and XLR inputs on each channel... grab it?

Sounds like a fair price for an EV mixer. My bet is it's pretty old?

a year or two ago is when the dude bought it but...... the music store owner blue-booked it at 700 so i think ima nab it

so should i buy it? or no..... i think im going to pick it up..... as its prolly better than the *cough* beh *cough* crap i have now

Go for it:) If you end up not liking it, slap it on Ebay and make some money for something better:)

Which 24 chan EV model are you referring to?

The MA series? The BK-2442?

BK-2432 is what it is. just got it home actually...... if i dont like it..... its goin on ebay as xstatic said....... at least it SHOULD be better than the *cough* beh *cough* crap im using....... i dont think i like behringer and i've only used ONE of their products..... although i've heard the ECM8000 mics arent bad so ima try on a pair of those for size..... im just starting to get into this recording shit sooooooo i dont need anything top of the line

well my band decided to be douchebags and record a couple tunes onto one track at practice with the mixer (which is one heavy son of a bitch) so we hung up a cobalt co4 about 2 stick heights above the center of the bass drum. we stuck an audix dynamic vocal mic in the bass drum, and a nady star power 9 about 6 inches from the center of the snare head in between it and the hats. i ran my amp and vocals direct into the board and we mic'd the other guitarist's amp. we dont have a bass player and have always sounded like shit with one. so we practiced a couple songs and listened to it play back in acid. and it didnt sound half bad. i'll try to have a sample by thursday of what this is like.
