24 bit

Depends on the program.... with some like CEP, it has to do with saving the data.
 
Don't have cubase, but I'll give you an example: In Cakewalk, in the tools menu, one option is to "change audio format", there you can select 16 bit (or 24 bit if you are going the other way). In Cool Edit, in the edit menu there are two commands..."convert sample type" or "adjust sample type". In cubase, look first for bit depth in the on line help, if there is nothing there, look up dither, should point you in the right direction. I suppose you could also copy your 24 bit wave, then open a new 16 bit wave, then paste the 24 bit into the 16 bit... I'm not sure that would work as well (I'm not sure it would dither). Anyway, hope it works out, maybe someone more knowledgable than I about Cubase can help.
