24 bit to 16 bit conversion

I recorded a song in 24 bit/44.1 to Cakewalk 9. Now I need to get it to 16 bit to convert it to an MP3. Is there any easy way to do this? Do I need to re-record it using another recording software ap? The Cakewalk manual doesn't say much about it, so far as I can see. Thanks.
