24 bit and Echo Mia

This is a repeat of an earlier post but unfortunately I have been away and wasn't able to check for responces - so forgive me for posting it again. Basically my problem is that I am unable to record in 24 bit using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and an Echo Mia soundcard. As far as I can make out it should be possible, but if I choose 24 bit in the audio options menu in Cakewalk my soundcard disappears from the list of available audio devices when selecting the source in and out for each track. The soundcard should definately deal with 24 bit, and there are no options relating to bit rate in the soundcard's console options.

Anyone encountered this problem?
