20 To 24 Bit

I am looking at using my 20 bit adat as an interface and i dont know if it will cause me a problem with sound quality if i go into a 24/96 optical sound card. Also not shure if i will have a sample rate problem ?. I think i should be ok at 48 as long as the sound card suports it. Any one know . Thanks Chirs7

What sound card is it??

If the card can do 96, it probably can do 48... But are you sure it's an optical ADAT interface??

If so it should work. The last four bits will just be truncated.
