REEK BROCK

MR. LAST WORD
Man I want to know how everyone feel about the businees model they have up.I hate to say it but I'm kind of pissed.

That was my first reaction to the idea.I know its a leasing price but it kind of devalues makin beats as a whole. If people start doing that It will hurt all of us in the long run.

Dude.... Chill....

If it's money you're after... You should know this isn't a quick hustle game...

Besides....

If I were a beat-shopper, I doubt I'd go purchasing from somebody like that....

I would befriend a producer.. duh!

Get yo publishing!!! :D

P.S. It's about making great music!

just a first reaction.I'm cool now.I just would want to be piaid for my hard work and creativity.

ditto on that one...

Yo, 20dollarbeats is my site. I am a producer. I've been producing for 9 years. I've produce mostly High End Digital Video and animation. I've worked with clients such as Celion, Cosby, Belushi/Ackroyd and more. I know they are not hip hop artists, but I've worked in the best area like Vegas, LA, and AC. My company was contracted out to do 3D Animation and Video Production for various trade show companies. I also had to create all music beds working with numerous clients. When the budgets got tighter, I either had to find "pre-made" music or create it myself as cheaply as possible. Anyway, I started creating tracks in Protools, Acid, or whatever we had to work with. 20dollarBeats came about because I have had numerous requests to create hip hop (radio style) loops and tracks for voiceovers, kiosks, DVD's, and tons of other jobs. I put that site up to help people use royalty free beats,bg music for their projects, demos, etc. Sorry that you think it's going to put you out, but I doubt it. The people buying from me are videographers (who need "in style" instrumentals), radio stations (for talkover, interviews etc.) DVD producers, rappers who need quick demos, and even a pro from Florida bought one of my best beats (not online now of course). I actually heard it made the top 20 on a station there.

Again, I'm not trying to put people out, not to mention, my style is much different than most I hear on this site. All I ask is for some feedback on my music. Thanks

I hope you didn't take offense to my post, as none was intended.... I'm not scared of competition... On the contrary, it only makes me work harder... Welcome aboard!

Great post, by the way!

No Prob. No offense taken. Thanks for the positive comments. It's nice to see some positive comments instead of all the crap like on other forums. I was on 5 other forums, but there was nothing but hate from all. it's a damn shame people hate so much. It's a proven fact that if you treat people with respect, you will get it in return. Why does everyone hate soo much?

Thanks again for your comments

I understand where you are coming from, No disrespect.I guess I needed some time to think about it and your post made me understand your stance better. You are not an up and coming producer. You are what I strive to be one day.I do this for the love of the music not to fit someone's idea of what's hot right now.If it ends up being hot that's a bonus. You're on a whole other level.

Even though this post isn't directed at me... I feel that you should better explain what you mean... I can see potential-conflicts in the wording you chose... Maybe you should address, directly, why he is on a "whole other level".... I'm confused about why you are saying that...

I'm saying the he's got way more experience than me in this field.

I Knew u were talkin about him before i even opened this thread up. But hey u do u and let him do him. In the end see where u both end up then you can have a judgemental stand point. Lets be a family on this site and show respect for everyone. I know u didnt disrespect or anything but I jus wanted to say we should respect what others bring here. An Djdownload make sure you show others love to. Well yall enjoy yal self and be good.

Honestly fam, you shouldn't even worry about that site, or the hundreds of others like it.

Serious artists won't use MP3's to record over. They yeild crap quality, and you can't achieve a professional mixdown when recording vox over a 2-track beat.

Real artists want custom beats, or exclusive beats. Nothing worse than recording a track over an internet beat and then hearing 20 other people record their own song on the same beat.... Myabe for the internet forum battlers or something, but real artists don't/won't buy mp3 downloads to record over.

So, don't stress over it. ;)

For the record, when an order is placed, they are sent to a download page to get an mp3 so they dont have to wait and start playing around with it right away. They will automatically get a cd (within 3-4days) with a 24bit 44khz track and the option to get the individual tracks as wavs as well (if they buy exclusive) so they can mix their own version. These areas were all thought out in advance because I've been doing production for 9 years. This is not some overnight thing I'm looking at. Not to mention, it's not 100% geared for Hip Hop Artists. I have received requests from rappers to create this so they can afford to make demos and such. Thanks for the "negative" post. I really am disapointed in the "hate" feedback from users on most forums. I figured that I would not get this kind of reaction from here. Maybe I was wrong. I have alot to offer people in the production business. However, posts like the one above make it very difficult for me to share ideas. I guess people are jealous or resent that I can make a few dollars doing just about anything I want. I'm sorry for being motivated and talented.

it was no hate from Change post, he is just stating the facts..no one in here is knocking your hustle or how long you have been doing this..he is just stating that real artist (Signed or Indie) dont use MP3s to record their projects on to get a better mix..

no one is hating and if I read it right he wasnt talkin about you..he was taking about REEK not worrying about sites like yours and to continue to do his thing..

dont think everyone is out for you cause of what you do...most of use dont care..just keep making good music and do u

Wow, you're real sensitive, son. I wasn't giving any "hate" to you, and if you stick around this forum, you'll see that there is no hate here. This is the most mature Hip-Hop forum on the net, in my opinion.

I didn't see anywhere on your site where it stated that tracked out wavs were available, or even an option to buy exclusive beats. Granted, I didn't scour your site either. So forgive me for making you think I was coming at you, the truth is... I wasn't speaking on you at all.

I was speaking on real artists who are serious about what they do. No serious artist will spit over an MP3. That's the truth. That doesn't have anything to do with the dudes wanting demo tracks or what not from your site. Your site serves a purpose to a certain demographic, which shouldn't concern REEK or his ambition to continue making hot tracks. You serve a different market with your "service" of supplying cheap beats in MP3 form.

So, welcome to the HR forum, but get your panties untwisted, dun son... There's no hate here, we're far too mature for that.

Hey I understand. It's hard to distinguish the tone of someones post with email. I was not trying to be uptight either, it's just that there is so much negative posts regarding anyone's work today. Everyone's got to bash the other constantly. I was always one to help others and share tricks and info all the time. Today, it's not worth it on most forums.

As for your comment "I didn't see anywhere on your site where it stated that tracked out wavs were available, or even an option to buy exclusive beats."

It's right on the front page. Also, the "truth" is that I have worked with artists over the net using mp3's. They get the file, do a sample mix, and send it back how they want things edited or changed. I've also done this with another site I have (I operate 13 other sites full time) that works with professional narrators. Same deal, they send me a rough draft of the VO then I make the change and send it back, they re-record in CD format and upload it to my servers. The truth is, with high speed and people networking around the world, anything is possible. You can produce an award winning song right from your house today, and it's 100% possible. I do all my own web design, graphics, marketing, video, sounds, music and as much else as I like to do. There is money to be made, and I'm going for it by utilizing all of my talents as best I can.
