Bring Back Transfat!
Anybody use the passive versions of this monitor?

Comments about sound or build quality?

Sound sweet. Built like a tank.
Stereo imaging is incredible. My only regret is the Alesis RA-100 amp I bought to drive them. Movong up to a Hafler as soon as possible.

I agree

Got the 20/20s. Now I have not used many other tpes of monitors but, the mixes transfeer nicely to other systems, they sound good, balanced. I can hear everything I am doing, stereo placement is precise. I have heard other comments about, I believe the bass not being tight enough but I have had no problem particularly at the levels I listen to them. I do not play them very loud when i am tracking and mixing. Normal sort of speaking level maybe a bit more. i have also, I believe, read some threads wherein some maybe think the midrange has a bit of emphasis in certain frequencies. Again, this has not prevented me from making good accurate mixes and, i happen to enjoy listening to them and working on them. Oh yeah, I think there has also been some talk about listening fatigue becuase of these tpes of emphasis in certain freguencies. I have not had this probelm either, so, leet you own ears be your guide. Talk is cheap, and when it comes to audio equipment, talk is very, very cheap! Listening is all that counts.

Agreed

I like working with them, they sound good and, as stated above, the mixes seem to transfer to other systems quite well and, after all, is that not part of the goal if not the main goal?
