Hi!

I am trying to research this myself, but need some help ---

I'm looking for suggestions & comments on the following:

#1 - A small, portable stereo field recorder for gigs etc. Either high-quality mp3 or wav? Must have long battery life (not any "1 hour" max crap!). I know the Edirol R-09 is good, and the built-in mikes are good I think? And it's small. Is there anything to top this? I also heard about iRiver mp3 recorders ("H" series) - but here in Australia we only have "T", "S", "X", and "E" models!? Suggestions? I want something easy to use - "click & record". And stereo!

#2 - An 8-track (at least) recorder for live gigs, feeding off the soundboard. MUST HAVE 8 simultaneous record tracks! Most units I see are limited to 2 or 4 simultaneous record tracks, which is useless for me!? I just need something to plug in & record, then take home & play around with on my computer. What is decent? What is cheap?

Can anybody here possibly give me some guidance? THANK YOU!
