2 Mono into 1 Stereo

Hi guys! I´m a drummer, and i want to know how to "merge" two Mono tracks into a Stereo one...
I want to be able to check the hits of, say, the snare track (panned R) with the click track (panned L) -using the Sample Editor-...
(btw, is there any other/better way to do that?)

Well, someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but having two mono tracks panned l and r is technically a stereo track as it is?? Isn't it??

I'm confused with what you mean by being able to "check" the hits.. could you please elaborate??
 
Hi Scooby, what i meant is this...
Let say you have a track with a your click track, and another track with your snare take...
I would like to make 1 stereo track instead of 2 mono tracks... That way i´m gonna be able to see if the snare is hitting before or after the click...
 
In Cubase, solo both tracks and make sure they're panned hard left and hard right. Go to File->Export. In the dialog box that opens, name the file and check both the Pool and "new track" boxes. It will bounce the output of those tracks and put the mix in a new track in the same project.

However, you DON'T have to do that in order to do what you want. Simply zoom both tracks in the project window and you'll be easily able to see if the hits line up or not.

The only thing is... do you really want to make the snare hits metronimic?
 
Are you using the built in metronome for the click track? If so, the metronome is basically mono for the most part. Just solo your snare track and activate the metronome click. That would save a little bit of trouble.

Noise, thanks but i´m kind of lost...
If i´m using mono tracks, how can i panned them?!
I supposed i should go to File - Export - AudioMixdown? Which option should i choose?

I want to do this for practice purposes... I´m sure it´s all about groove not metronomic playing... :D
 
You pan them in the mixer. You can pan mono tracks.

As for mixdown. I have suggested this in the past on this board: The Cubase Help system is one of the best help systems in the world. It's the entire user manual in a searchable form. This is not a slight an attitude. It really is the best suggestion I can give. I've learned so much about this program by using Help. Even things that you wouldn't think of, while looking for answers to my question.

So, do a search for "mixdown" in the help system and you'll see all the functions that you can do with it.
