?-2 hear vox while rec. in headphones?

Hey everybody,
I got a Dell 110 laptop that im runnin CEP on, the problem is that most artists would like to hear themselves as we record.

In my Windows Mixer, there isn't a "mic" checkbox when I select "playback"

Do I need a new soundcard to enable this "realtime" playback?

If so could ne1 suggest a rather affordable one that would suffice?

Slow down and tell us what you're using for a soundcard first.

Okay, Hopefully this is your problem.


Open up the windows mixer

Go to options in the menu bar then click on properties on the drop down list.

Make sure the sound card you are using is in the list menu, make sure that "Playback" is checked.

Then, here is where your problem might lay, all those check boxes corresponds to what you see on the windows mixer, so if you dont see a Mic volume control in the mixer window, make sure it is checked here.

If it isnt, checkmark it, then click ok then you should be able to un-mute it so that you can hear what comes out of the Mic.
