Through Ebay, I've accidentally met a dealer, who, so far has been friendly and offered me alot of good advice via email.

He is offering to sell me x2 Groove Tube GT50's for $500, plus tax and shipping.

Is this an okay deal?

Does anybody here have or like this mic?

I primarily need them for drum overheads, would this be a good choice?

I was leaning towards AT4050's, but that's going to cost nearly 3 times what these 2 Groove Tube mics' would cost.

YES! Groove tubes sound so sweet, with a sound no one else can replicate, they're silky smooth and if all else fails replace the tube for 15 bucks!

Oh yeah sorry i was confused cuz i was just looking at buying a GT 67, still a good mic tho, i would do it.

That appears to be a decent deal. They list for @$399 and street for $320 or so. They are the current version of the GT-55. I've not used that particular GT mic, although I've liked the ones I do have which are older models.

It is a single pattern mic though, if that makes any difference. The AT-4050 is a multi-pattern mic. You should be able to find used 4050s for @$350 - sometimes less. I've seen new ones go on e-bay for @$410 or so.
