pretty good cover of Born to be Wild - vocals are very good - just the mix needs to be a lot more "beefier" re the guitars and bass in particular

I did enjoy very much listening to this this :listeningmusic:

cool thanks man, appreciate you taking the time to have a listen,
Yup I have to have a mess around with recording the guitars, Its very new to me, Im using my gnx3000 via usb and I can't find a patch that im overly happy with, Maybe I might try miking the ol peavey valve stack haha
We didn't actually include a bass tack, as at that stage we didn't possess a bass, I've since purchased one, so Im definetly going to add a bass track, (i also need to learn how to record the bass and getting it sounding clear and distinct)
Thanks man for the feedback

Not too bad man. You need to work a lot on the sound though. The rhythm guitar sound kind of wimpy and too bright in a harsh way. Vocals are good enough, but you should work on more originals because I can hear some real potential once you refine your sounds and get it top notch. Keep it up! Born to be wild didn't really sound too good in my opinion, but the JC cover was pretty decent :D

Johnny Cash is my favorite, born to be wild is in my 10 least favorite songs ever. haha.

Folsom - start by working on the rhythm sound. it's doubled and panned? one guitar might have more impact and sound better. it sounds too lush for johnny, and way to bright and harsh. bass sounds alright. I'd Eq in some more low end and a little more punch. lead guitar suffers from the same problems as the rhythm. drums, loop sounds looped for the most part. Too much room sound in it...i'd dry them up for the man in black.

Wild - guitars sound way better. still a little fizzy, i'd bring the od down a little and double track them on each side to get some thickness. I can't hear the bass very well is it way down or just indistinct, or is there one? Drums sound better. Drier than on the Johnny Cash song. Sound way more real too.

Also, are the vocals doubled and panned too, or is that some reverb? sounds like stereo vocals...i think they'd be a lot better right up the middle with a mild reverb.

Good performances...a little work and these could be really good.
