I plan on getting an audiophile 192 which has 2 audio inputs (left/right). I have a jv-1080 and a korg x-5dr. If I connect one mono out from each, will that work ?

Sorry for the lameness of the question but I was using a Delta 1010LT before and had them hooked as stereo to 2 left and rights ... since I'm limited with the 192, I am trying to see if I can do this...I think I would prefer to have them both as mono anyway.

yes it will work.
As you noted the tracks will be mono recordings of each device, but you dont have to repatch.
if you don't play both at the same time you could record one at a time in stereo and repatch cables or get a small mixer and run several things things through that using the main left / right outs to your card.
This would be helpful if you recorded midi tracks and then replayed /recorded your keyboards as a live stereo track.

ok, i thought it was do-able this way. I do have a mackie 1402vlzPro - from before...but would be overkill for what I am doing now. BTW - I did not order the audiophile ... went with a Juli@ card instead - heard it a friends house and was immediately convinced :)

Thanks tmix for the reply !

Best not to think of the inputs as "left" or "right" but as "1" or "2" anyway.
