i just purchased a drive with an 8 mb cache and i have one in my pc with a 2 mb cache-both 7200 rpm. which one should i run my os and recording apps. on and which one is better suited for recording audio on. does the larger cache favor the audio only drive?
thanks all,

I don't do the seperation full seperation of programs and audio.
Though on the same drive I made seperate partitions for audio and programs.

But anyway, I'd imagine you put the audio on the 8MB cache drive.

I put anything that doesn't require the best speed possible on my 2MB cache Maxtor drive, and the ones which I'd like to go as fast as possible on the 8MB, though the difference isn't going to be that great.

Use the 2mb for all your programs and the 8mb dedicated to audio only.

i use this same kind of setup in my computer. amazing setup with amazing stability. use the 8MB for the audio dedicated drive. its also very beautiful when doing audio/video editing.
