Here is a recording I found (video) that used 2 mics up by the sound board they were $50 mics from guitar center. I like it.

Fallen Short - Breathe - 24 meg.

Fallenshort - Breath Small File 3.6 meg

Oh ya it was run through a tiny behringer board $60 one and recroded direct to the video camera. It was kind of fun to get something for basically free.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure I believe that. I doubt you can run audio into "multiple" cameras with a $60 Behringer. This looks to be above amateur work.

i also doubt that. And what do you mean you found it, I think this is your band. You have a link to them right in your sig line.

No, this is not my band, this is a band I have recorded, here and below. We used a Sony Cammcorder and 2 cheap condesors from guitar center that were 2 for $99. The other 2 cameras were floating into the audience. I used Vegas Video to edit the video and take the track from the master camcorder.

We put them in a stereo patern, and then ran them both into a small 2 channel behringer board, and outputed that directly to the sony's input. Used a set of headphones to set the level into the camcorder, and then just ran live sound the best we could. I think it is funny that you don't believe it. This is really just a 2 channel recording. I could send you a clip of the master tape (distant shot) that would prove it.

I don't know why they don't believe it.
It's not that great sounding. Real muffled...

If you are going to spend that much effort recording someone, mic their amps/instruments and run that to the board. Then get a good sounding mix on the board and run THAT into your camera. If you have an extra mic, mic the crowd noise too...or pull it from another camera.

We actually multi-tracked it as well to adats, but we just didn't mix them because it was a waste of time. The band broke up and yada yada. So we just stuck with the 2 mics about 125 feet away from the stage in a 2000 seat venue. It was just fun to take 2 tracks like that and actually get some milage out of it. It was just a take of the live sound that was present.

Well then, you are quite fortunate that everything worked out. Most folks, who attempt to record that way, end up with less than pleasing results. You are either very skilled or very lucky.

Enjoy!

It was just fun to mess around with, and we had a great room.
