hello, just wondering if any of u , use a 18v phantom power to connect 48v mikes?

i have a mixer with 18v phantom power, but lil scary to connect a 48v mic.

thanks

Maybe someone scraped the left side of the 4 so it looks like a 1. 18V seems kinda strange.

It will probably work (depending on the mic), but may not sound very good. You won't be able to fully power the internal preamp of the condenser. Worth a try, though. It certainly won't hurt anything.

For less than $50 you could pick up an external phantom power supply to assuage all your concerns.

Electret mics won't have a problem but some mics that are externally polerized won't behave properly.
