what is your budget?

lightpiping eight more inputs to the interface you already have is probably your cheapest option. well, maybe the pair of Delta 1010LT is close, but I'm guessing the sound quality of the digi 002 is gonna be superior to the Delta 1010LTs.

Why are you so fixated on Pro Tools? That is going to limit your hardware choices. There are better options for the home recordist. Are you running a pro studio or something? if not, forget about Pro Tools. Seriously. Its over-priced garbage. The light versions don't have enough functionality and the full versions are big $$$.

Ausrock,
Id take a guess at 1200-1500.00. I'm talking the factory version with the mixer thing and version 7.1 or 7.2 software (Im not sure which I have) and the Music Production Toolkit Bundle.

Hi_Flyer,
Well I dont have a budget. But I am fixated on PT because I like the program itself. I know it decently well and I own a bunch of plugins for it. As a program for mixing and editing and adding effects I actually love it. But when it come to actually using it to record something i want to sound good (musical) it sucks Donkey D!ck. That is why I want to record everything in Reel To Reel and just transfer it over to PT so i can chop it up, loop it, do whatever I cant on the Reel-2-Reel. I have another thread in the PT section of this forum and someone suggested that I already have 16 inputs on the back of the digi-002 factory, I "guess" Im supposed to be able to hook up 8 extra inputs to the 1 optical input on the back. But I think I'll have to buy "something" in order to do that. Cause 8 into 1 doesnt work, even in digital land.

Poop,

If it is the Digi 002 Console, on Evilbay there's a s/hand sitting in the $800s with a day to go and a brand new unit with a Buy It Now of (I think) $1499.

I tend to agree with the Digi 002 posts above, the software is good but I don't think the digital converters are up to much at all & I record digital instead through a DBX Quantum or Mindprint AN/DI Pro instead for better quality.

It seems that you have to pay out much more for decent sounding digital audio interfaces IMO
