Hi all. Me and my friends are looking for a 16 mono channel mixer with inserts at least 1 subgroup and phantom power mic amp for something in the 200-400 range. We have only found the incredibly high priced allen and heath or mackie mixers. Behringer seemed a good choice but they only have 12 separate channels on their mixers before going up too 20.
any suggestions?

You will not be able to find a 16 channel mixer for that price, unless you come across one at ebay or some secret garage sale.

Yamaha MG 24 has 16 XLRchannels and 4 stereo. Its $899

Try to do more with less...what are you wanting to do with your mixer?

If you are recording...your not gonna need more then maybe 8 channels..and that depends on your recording equipment.

200-400? that like might cover the cables you will need to hook the mixer up, if you ever find one.

some more info on what you are planning on doing would help

Thanks

I think I'm actually going to take the yamaha mg16/4.
I'ts got 16 inputs and 2 aux returns I can use as additionnal inputs.
I'ts got enough for a live concert with 5 mics on the drums and for recording.
plus it's very cheap.

Heh... don't look up the price for a SSL consoles. Try 250,000 dollars for a mixer and see if you think A&H and Mackie are "incredibly" high priced. :)

Anyways, check out used Mackie CR1604's (250 bucks) or Soundcraft 200's (500 bucks).

Don't check out Behringer. Iffy reliability coupled with the blah sound if you know what I mean.

I would love a mackie or a soundcraft, but I live in stinking priced europe. Yamaha seems a good choice judging by the reviews

Buy used and use eBay... hopefully you won't get screwed on the exchange rate. I feel your pain--I lived in Europe for 2 years (Aubsburg, Germany) and the domestic price of equipment was ludicrous.

germany is actually cheaper than usa for japaneese products
yamaha mixers are less expensive in germany than usa but for the rest...

why does everyone else have to be charged so much more :( its not fair
